Our two-hour feature, Mary Shelley's THE LAST MAN, starring Santiago Craig will be playing on the big screen at Tucson's historic Fox Theater, located on Congress Street, downtown, on Saturday night, the 23rd of February 2008 at the Artfare The Muse Mini-CineFest, hosted by Shelli Hall and Peter Catalanotte from the Tucson Film Office.

Artfare The Muse is an important asset for independent filmmakers, providing audition space, rehearsal space, staging and filming space for a diversity of filmmakers of all budget levels and backgrounds. If you're involved in independent filmmaking, Artfare is the place to go, to start your film at the gateway of everything that Tucson has to offer.

The feature presentation of our movie will be preceded by a late afternoon showcase of "must-see" shorts and featurettes that came out of Artfare The Muse, from some of Tucson's most promising directors and upcoming actors who just may inspire you with their work. This showcase runs about as long as a feature itself, making it a mini festival of Tucson film achievements. Here is the confirmed lineup of films:

• THE FALL OF SANTIAGO Color, 8 minutes. Directed by Justin Stern & Chelsea Coles. Starring Fausto Olmos and Robert Linden.
• KISS YOUR ASS GOOD-BYE B&W, 10 minutes. Directed by Jeremy Hamley. Starring Tiffany Shepis and Kevin Lucero Less.
• SOMEWHAT DAMAGED Color, 30 minutes. Directed by Rick Gutierrez. Starring Jonathan Northover and Brooke Nurray.
• THE RUNNERS Color, 19 minutes. Directed by Justin Mashouf & JorDan Fuller. Starring Fausto Olmos and Anna Yosin.
• JUST ANOTHER BOX B&W, 30 minutes. Directed by James Arnett. Starring Julio Garcia and Santiago Craig.

Besides the action up on the screen, there will also be a mixer between programs up in the Founder's Lounge of the theater where you can meet many of the filmmakers and the actors, if you don't know them already.

Artfare The Muse, the non-profit Arts Organization, doesn't receive any public funding and is supported completely by patrons of the arts in our community. It's also the downtown hub for independent filmmaking in Tucson. This charity event has been organized to support this innovative and vibrant arts organization so it can continue to help independent filmmakers achieve their creative goals in the digital age. That's what this benefit is all about, showcasing what's possible in Tucson's talented and growing film community, working out of the facilities at Artfare The Muse.
