1.4.1 ANIMATOR'S MANTRA - 24 FPS

24 frames of film makes up one second on the motion picture screen; an easy way to remember this frame rate is there are 24 hours in a day. Always remember 24 FPS (frames per second) when you're animating on film, it is an unchanging constant for which all animation calculations for film in the United States are based (Europe has their own 25 FPS mantra). Video and most computer animation packages run at 30 FPS but that's another mantra entirely.
