Film
wound on cores must be handled in complete darkness.
Cores generally fit detachable, external magazines
that have spindles approximately one-inch in diameter
and are round in shape with a small key that engages
the slot in the core. Care should be taken not to
let the film pull sideways off the core because
it has no sides, guides or edges. It's configured
similar to a roll of masking tape except the core
has a tendency to pop out if mishandled, so handle
the film as little as possible to prevent abrasion
of the emulsion.
