1.
Are there any "zombies" in this movie?
No.
There are no zombies, just people infected with a disfiguring disease
called Small Pox that wipes out the majority of the world's population.
2.
Is this a spin-off of "I Am Legend" or "Y: The Last Man"?
No.
The Mary Shelley work this movie is based upon was first published
in 1826, following "Frankenstein". This book is accepted by most scholars
as one of the earliest works of modern science-fiction, of this genre
in particular.
3.
How faithful is this movie to the book?
The
Romanticist era melodrama has been completely excised and the core
story is brought to the forefront by totally restructuring the literary
"Roman à clef" narrative into a more cinematic and
dynamic narrative. This is a 120 minute movie, not a work of literature.

4. Why does the 21st century not "look" like it does in the
book?
Because
Mary Shelley’s 21st century was described exactly as 1826 looked.
She didn't know that we would have HDTV, jumbo jets, automobiles,
iPods, cell phones or computers in the 21st century.
5.
Why do the characters have machineguns instead of muskets like in the
book?
Because
the characters couldn’t find any muskets in the 21st century, just
modern assault weapons scavenged from the military.
6.
Why are there nuclear bombs in the movie?
Because
thermonuclear weapons do a more effective job of sterilizing entire
cities than frightened townsfolk with pitchforks and torches.
7.
How come the characters don’t speak with a British accent?
Because
in this adaptation, the story is set in the American southwest, where
our production company and actors were all located.
